For 4-days in August (Thurs 15 – Sun 18 August), Unique Events helped transform Deaconess Gardens, Edinburgh into The Lidl Garden at the Fringe, presenting a packed programme of FREE activities and performances for all ages, featuring some of the very best in comedy, music and performance from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

A family daytime programme allowed younger audiences to get creative with free arts & crafts, face painting, storytelling with Edinburgh based Macastory and jump on a Smoothie Bike to make their own fresh-fruit smoothie using delicious Lidl produce, along with a hilarious programme of family entertainment featuring comedy improv for kidsfrom smash-hit Fringe shows The Noise Next Door, Comedy Sportz, Mr Fibbers, Olaf Falafel and The Amazing Bubble Man.

Live music came from a very special acoustic set from folk-noir balladeer Rachel Sermanni and a foot-stomping performance from Edinburgh’s Fiddlers on the Ramp. In the evenings, audiences enjoyed Lidl craft beer or G&T with the cream of comedy taking to the stage for a series of free performances featuring Phill Jupitus, Zoe Lyons, Jay Lafferty, Fred MacAulay, Ray Bradshaw and Jo Jo Sutherland plus many more.

All The Lidl Garden at the Fringe activities and performances were free and un-ticketed on a first-come-first serve basis.
