2010 is shaping up to be just as busy, with a series of exciting projects in production and planning for Edinburgh’s Hogmanay 2010/11 well underway. Edinburgh’s Hogmanay promises yet another world class event, confirming Edinburgh as the best New Year celebrations in the world and the ‘Home of Hogmanay’. Next Up: Unique Events invites you to celebrate the life, myth and legend of King Robert the Bruce in the ancient Capital of Scotland as the Bruce Festival returns to Dunfermline this August. Join Robert the Bruce at his final resting place, as his story is brought to life through theatre, sound and light in a spectacular Son et Lumière in and around the impressive Dunfermline Abbey. Draw swords with the legends that fought for an independent Scotland against a breathtaking backdrop, as the Abbey façade is transformed by magnificent lighting effects. Listen to one of three acclaimed Scottish musicians as Dougie MacLean (19th), Karen Matheson (20th) and Dick Gaughan (21st) perform intimate concerts surrounded by the magnificent medieval carvings and beautiful stained class windows of the Abbey Nave.
