We are currently working on Edinburgh’s Hogmanay 2010 celebrations, the original and best New Year celebrations in the world!

This year’s programme is being finalised and the City of Edinburgh Council has taken the decision to return more of the day to day and support activities to Unique, leaving us to create, produce and manage all aspects of the festival including the marketing and promotion of the events as well as the creation and implementation of the festival programme and event infrastructure.

Edinburgh will show locals and visitors alike that Edinburgh is open for business and will once again host its annual New Year Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Street Party, including the Concert in the Gardens and The Keilidh events on Hogmanay night with two giant screens, three live music stages and a fireworks and laser show at midnight; bringing in the bells in true Scottish style.

Edinburgh’s Hogmanay 2009-10 full five day programme features exciting new events in the specially commissioned production Off-Kilter (29 December – 2 January), alongside our established events programme including the opening event Torchlight Procession (29 December), which marks the beginning of the festival with thousands of torch carriers creating a river of fire from the historic Royal Mile to the Son et Lumiere and fireworks finale on Calton Hill; new and exciting events on the night afore with Firelight by Carabosse, who will transform the historical High Street with fire sculptures and installations and a special open night of Edinburgh’s Castle Legendary Light (30 December); plus a full New Year's Day programme (1 January) featuring the return of the popular New Year’s Conversation as well as a reprise of Firelight with Carabosse and the first staging in the capital, and for an international audience, of the Big Man Walking show that has been recently touring Scotland.
