Organised in support of the aims of the UK's Make Poverty History campaign and the Global Call for Action Against Poverty, the Live 8 shows in Edinburgh and London were staged to exert pressure on world leaders to drop the debt of the world's poorest nations and consider the plight of the world’s poorest people.
The concert: Edinburgh 50,000 the Final Push on 6 July 2005 at Murrayfield Stadium coincided with the opening day of the G8 Summit at Gleneagles.
Unique produced the Edinburgh show working with Comic Relief, the City of Edinburgh Council and under the direction of the First Minister’s office. Unique had only 6 weeks from notification to completion.

Artists cajoled and assembled by Mssrs Geldof and Ure including Bono, Annie Lennox, James Brown and a galaxy of other stars performed to a capacity crowd of 50,000, the music programme interspersed with messages of goodwill from Nelson Mandella and other inspirational figures.
Unique took no fees but a great deal of pleasure from their contribution to this memorable night.
